Condition Monitoring
CMR Group, the engine control
technology and instrumentation specialists,
has launched a new series of electronic
monitoring units for the nuclear power
industry.
The S-Unit range has been
specifically designed by CMR for the
simple and effective condition monitoring
of safety backup diesel genset systems
used in nuclear power plants.
Designed to be compliant with nuclear
energy industry standards and ensure that
backup diesel gensets continue to operate
at optimum performance, the units provide
advance warning of potential problems and
serious damage, improving the scheduling
of maintenance programmes.
The next generation S128 and S129
units comprise easily configurable 32
channel analogue inputs for the accurate
condition monitoring of key engine
characteristics. These include measurement
of exhaust gas temperature, bearings
temperature, water temperature, stator
winding temperature, pressure, lubrication
oil temperature and other features.
Designed to withstand harsh and
demanding operational environments,
the robust units have two operational
modes, providing a permanent display of
the last channel manually scanned or the
automatic display of all sensor channels.

Portable Control
Console
The new
Remote Ocean Systems
(ROS) Portable Control Console provides
both precise positioning as well as close
proximity operation of their PTZ All-
Digital Color lnspection System developed
for high radiation environments.
Console features include an 18.5"
main control monitor and the ability to add
audio and text overlay to a High Definition
recorder with remote Ethernet access.
A rugged, high impact plastic case
protects the console and a retractable handle
and wheels enable fast and easy mobility.
The PTZ lnspection System includes
a High Definition PTZ Camera and an
Un-Shielded High Radiation Camera
(PTZ-R) that has been field tested in
excess of 150K Rad/Hr. Both cameras
offer a choice of lens options and are
watertight to 100 meters.
Servo Motors

hardened servo motors for the nuclear
industry. These brushless servo motors
provide outstanding reliability and
precision in the most challenging radiation
environments, and can be combined with
a gearbox, resolver and brake. Featuring

motors perform in fields up to 5 Mrad/hr
with a service life up to 10 MGy total
ionizing dose, making them ideally suited
