move to strengthen the links between
the French and Japanese nuclear power
industries, recognizing the strategic
interest to combine in certain fields of
civil nuclear energy the strengths of
EDF and MHI. Specifically, EDF and
MHI intend to enhance their strategic
cooperation by establishing general

the smooth execution of ATMEA1
projects, in particular in Turkey and
Vietnam,

the potential participation of MHI
as a partner in the French nuclear
landscape reorganization with the
acquisition of a minority equity
interest in AREVA NP,

potential

WJP Training
Mitsubishi Nuclear Energy Systems,
Inc.
(MNES) will conduct hands-on
training and qualification of the Mitsubishi
Water Jet Peening (WJP) process under a
realistic plant environment at a new facility
in the Greater Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
area. The location of the site provides
MNES a prime geographic location with
easy access to many of the U.S. nuclear
facilities. MNES will also host customer
visits and product demonstrations at the
facility.
MNES trained and qualified engineers
will provide rigorous, hands-on WJP
operations training to employees and
AZZ|WSI, Inc. personnel under realistic
plant environments. As part of the training,
a train-the-trainer program to qualify and
certify designated personnel for future
training needs will be conducted. The
ability to conduct this training on the actual
WJP equipment in advance of project
implementation further demonstrates
MNES’ commitment to operational
excellence and first-time quality through
a highly trained and qualified workforce.
