Color Inspection
Camera
Remote Ocean Systems’
PTZ-R
Color Camera utilizes patented solid
state technology to deliver exceptional
color clarity and resolution for more
informative and better inspections in high
radiation environments.
The PTZ-R System includes the
un-shielded color camera with 360°
pan and 155° tilt capability, a dual LED
lighting array, independently controlled
and an optional 3:1 optical zoom lens. In
addition to the camera, the system also
includes a video processor unit, a camera
control unit plus all connecting cables.
According to ROS the PTZ-R is
watertight to 100 meters with a life
expectancy up to 15 times longer than
current systems in use.

Contracts
Nuclear Robotics
Amec Foster Wheeler
announced
that it has been awarded a seven-year
contract by Fusion For Energy (F4E),
for the development and delivery of the
Neutral Beam Cell Remote Handling
System on the ITER fusion reactor at
Cadarache in the South of France.
The framework contract, worth up to
£70 million ($77 million) over the seven
years, is the largest nuclear robotics
contract so far awarded by F4E to a UK
company. It highlights Amec Foster
Wheeler’s world-leading expertise in
this field and underlines the company’s
relationship with F4E as a key player in
the development of nuclear fusion on a
commercial scale.
The Remote Handling system in
the Neutral Beam Cell is crucial to the
success of ITER, the multi-billion pound
project that aims to demonstrate the
technical feasibility of nuclear fusion as
a future power source.

Manage & Operate
Fluor Corporation
announced that
the Government of Canada has selected
Fluor—part of the Canadian National
Energy Alliance (CNEA) consortium—
as the preferred bidder to manage and
operate Canadian Nuclear Laboratories
(CNL), currently a subsidiary of
Atomic Energy of Canada Limited
(AECL). CNEA also includes CH2M,
EnergySolutions and SNC-Lavalin. The
Canadian National Energy Alliance will
operate Canada’s nuclear research and
development laboratories, as well as have
responsibility for the decommissioning
and radioactive waste management of
legacy materials accumulated during
more than 60 years of activity across 10
locations in Canada, including the Chalk
River and Whiteshell facilities.
The Government of Canada and
CNEA will work to finalize contracts
in the coming months allowing CNEA
to assume ownership of CNL and
begin management and operation of the
laboratories.

Fuel Reloads
Entergy has extended a contract with
Global Nuclear Fuel
(GNF) to fuel the
utility’s fleet of boiling water reactors
through 2021.
The agreement is for eight fuel
reloads — two at each of Entergy’s
boiling water reactors: FitzPatrick, Grand
Gulf, Pilgrim and River Bend. The total
value of the contract extension is more
than $100 million.
In 2008 Entergy became the first
utility to install reloads of the GNF2 fuel
PTZ-R Color Camera.
