With the advancing age of Nuclear
Power Plants both state side and
abroad, Ellis & Watts has become a
major supplier of replacement
equipment. E&W uses its over 60
years of experience to design and
manufacture equipment that meets
the existing equipment’s footprint and
performance. Digital Controls are a
highly debated topic within the nuclear
industry regarding the validation and
verification of software on safety-
related applications. E&W has been
able to design replacement equipment
using
analog controls
, which provide
a cost-effective, reliable alternative.

E&W has an ASME NQA-1 compliant
& ISO 9001 certified quality assurance
systems. We also are NIAC & NUPIC
approved suppliers. For pressure
vessels, we follow ASME BPVC
Section III and VIII.
About Us
Ellis & Watts was founded in 1952 as
a designer and manufacturer of
special purpose heating, ventilation,
and air conditioning (HVAC)
equipment. Since then, we have
developed a broad capability in heat
transfer, air treatment, and
environmental control systems. Our
equipment operates every day in over
70 nuclear power plants worldwide.
We specialize in designing
customized HVAC systems and
components that meet the stringent
requirements for military, medical, and
nuclear industries.
Since 1952, our approach and
dedication to quality, reliability, and
service have remained constant. We
are committed to proven problem
solving techniques, which is how
we’ve remained the global leader in
Nuclear HVAC solutions for over 60
years.
Engineering
Engineering is the focal point of the
company, and our greatest strength.
Our veteran engineers participate in
the Codes & Standards that contribute
to the industry including: ASME BPVC
Section III, ASME AG-1, and ASME
Board on Nuclear Codes & Standards.
We design HVAC and Refrigeration
systems and components to the
requirements of ASME, ASHRAE,
NFPA, and other recognized
standards. Our capabilities include
seismic/structural analyses using
Finite Element Analysis, 2D/3D CAD
drawings, thermal design, P&ID’s,
radiation effects analyses, mean time
between failure (MTBF) analyses, and
many others.
We have been involved with the
design of next generation nuclear
