Protecting our Future: Educating a
CybersecurityWorkforce
, by Jane LeClair.
ISBN: 978-0-9898451-1-3, December
2013.
In the world of technology,
cybersecurity is one of the most dynamic
topics of our times. Protecting Our
Future brings together a range of experts
from across the cybersecurity spectrum
and shines a spotlight on operational
challenges andneeds across theworkforce:
in military, health care, international
relations, telecommunications, finance,
education, utilities, government, small
businesses, and nonprofits. Contributors
offer an assessment of strengths and
weaknesses within each subfield, and,
with deep subject-matter expertise, they
introduce practitioners, as well as those
considering a future in cybersecurity, to the
challenges andopportunitieswhenbuilding
a cybersecurity workforce.
NRC Documents
1. Three Mile Island Accident of
1979 Knowledge Management Digest
,
December 2012, Document NUREG/
KM-0001.
This knowledge management digest
and the support DVD contain the reports
that the NRC and other government
organizations issued following extensive
investigations in the accident. Although
few key documents have become
available electronically, this NUREG/
KM marks the first time that the NRC
has digitized these historically important
reports.
2. Fuel Behavior under Abnormal
Conditions
, January 2013, Document
NUREG/KM-0004.
This NUREG report considers the
following two types of accident conditions:
(1) reactivity-initiated accidents and (2)
loss-of-coolant accidents. This report
describes the fuel behavior of each
accident condition from basic concepts to
the current state of the art.
3. The Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant
Fire of 1975 Knowledge Management
Digest,
May 2013, Document NUREG/
KM-0002.
The purpose of this knowledge
management NUREG and DVD is to
preserve the history and impact of the fire
at the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN)
on regulations and to educate future
generations of safety professionals. This
is the second report in the NUREG/KM-
Series.
4. Research Activities FY2012-FY2014,
August 2013, Document NUREG-1925,
Rev. 2.
This NUREG presents research
conducted across a wide variety of
disciplines, ranging from fuel behavior
under accident conditions to seismology
to health physics. This research provides
the technical bases for regulatory
decisions and confirms licensee analyses.
5. Fire Protection and Fire Research
Knowledge Management Digest, 2013,
January 2014, Document NUREG/KM-
0003.
This digest provides fire related
ajor subject
areas: current nuclear power plants, next
generation nuclear power plants, and
non-reactor and nuclear materials.
6. Reactor Pressure Vessel Head
Degradation Knowledge Management
Digest
, February 2014, Document
NUREG/KM-0005.
This
knowledge
management
digest and accompanying DVD contain
historical documents relating to the
technical and regulatory aspects of the
reactor pressure vessel head incidents at
Davis-Bessee Nuclear Power Station in
2002 and 2010.
7.
2013 New Reactor Program
, March
2014, Document NUREG/BR-0476,
Volume 3.
The
2013 New Reactor Program
annual review highlights the diverse
array of activities undertaken and
showcases the resilience and dedication
of the employees to manage a myriad of
projects toward safe closure.

EvaluationofTechniquesforDetecting
Small Condenser Tube Leaks
. Product ID:
3002002306. Published January 2014.
Cooling water in leakage can result
in huge costs for power plants as a result
of plant derates and outages to locate and
mitigate leaks, vendor services to help
with leak location detection, or extended
plant outages necessitated to address
catastrophic inleakage. Based on current
studies and on recommendations made by
the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations
(INPO), new leak detection targets are
being considered with leak flow rates as
low as 1–2 gallons (3.8–7.6 liters) per
day.
2. A Review of Advanced Welding
Technology and Applications for
Nuclear Power Applications. Product ID:
3002002574. Published February 2014.
Thispaper is thefirst of a two-part series that
examines advanced welding applications
and issues for their use in the nuclear power
industry. It focuses on primary nuclear
weldingapplicationsandadvancedwelding
processes/applications that can address
industry weldability issues.
3.
Nuclear Maintenance Applications
Center: Instructions forUpgradingBolting
Performance Demonstration Unit Display
- Converting Output Signal from Analog
to Digital
. Product ID: 3002002572.
Published March 2014.
This report, in conjunction with
EPRI report 3002000494, Nuclear
Maintenance
Applications
Center:
Bolting Performance Demonstration
Unit (BPDU) Drawings and Instructions,
provides the information needed to
construct a BPDU with an updated digital
output and display so that the BPDU can
be used by power plant personnel for
training on correctly assembling bolted
joints.
