What is the procedure to handle last
minute addition of projects to the outage
schedule to ensure minimum impact from
the predetermined outage planning due to
these contingencies?
To effectively mitigate the impact
of emergent work scopes on outage
schedules, Day & Zimmermann
collaborates closely with its customers in
performing risk analyses and evaluations
on work packages as they are prepared
prior to the outage. Contingency plans
are developed to minimize risk on critical
work package evolutions. The team uses
project controls tools and proprietary
software to provide earned value
calculations to control project tasks.
11.
What scheduling software is used
to prevent interferences and resources
(equipment and human resources)
conflict? Describe briefly salient
features of the software indicating its
subprograms.
Day & Zimmermann’s experienced
Project Controls personnel utilize critical
path method (CPM) scheduling programs
such as Primavera Project Planner
(versions P3 andP6) andMicrosoft Project
to monitor and control our maintenance
and construction projects and to minimize
“work window” durations and impacts to
critical path evolutions.
12.
How does Day & Zimmermann make
the personnel and the supervisors of the
contractors to take ownership about the
outcome of the refueling outage? What
are the organizational, administrative,
and motivational techniques used to
accomplish this objective?
Day & Zimmermann recognizes that
accountability is critical to improving
and sustaining its performance and
operational effectiveness at every
organizational level. To achieve this goal,
D&Z is implementing “The Oz Principle”
model of organizational accountability
to ensure that personnel at all levels feel
empowered to take ownership of outage
outcomes.
