What are the Post Fukushima modifications in the design and construction of EPR? Fukushima event occurred while several EPRs were under construction in different countries (China, Finland and France). The necessary modifications linked to Post Fukushima were defined in agreement with each safety authority taking into account the specificities of each construction site and operation capacities of the utilities. Because of the high-level of robustness of the EPR initial design against the external hazards, including the extreme natural hazards as large earthquake and large external flooding, the EPR modifications were very limited.
