into the reactor building to deliver the
items. By employing this method to
transport the aforementioned items, PSC
reduced manpower requirements and
kept the project on schedule.
Conclusion
“The PMLS greatly mitigated risk
and time required for material handling,”
explained Gaita. “We lost zero time due
to wind or inclement weather.”
All told, PSC spent eight weeks on
the project. Its 50-person crew provided
24-hour coverage — constructing the
PMLS, operating the SPMTs and knuckle
boom cranes, and performing all outside
and inside rigging and handling.
“We completed our scope of work
on time and without any lost time due to
