A NEW STANDARD IN FLOOD PROTECTION
At nearly two miles long and 26 feet high, Shaw’s Surge Barrier project is the
largest design-build civil works project in U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
history and one of New Orleans’ first lines of defense against storm
surge. The innovative techniques that Shaw used for this surge
barrier system are directly applicable to address potential
flooding concerns at nuclear power plants around the world.
